How we build city pages, surface local context, and show a call path when coverage exists — without pretending to be your contractor or 911.
Local pages
DryCalm publishes ZIP and city pages for water damage guidance across the United States. Only higher-opportunity markets are set to index; long-tail ZIPs may stay published for paid/direct traffic with noindex. Titles, FAQs, and context blocks use place data plus estimated flood, housing, and climate notes — not “#1 in every ZIP” claims.
Weather and flood context
When available, live National Weather Service data (api.weather.gov) may show active alerts and near-term forecasts for the ZIP’s coordinates. Flood context may include OpenFEMA disaster-declaration history for the state (not a FEMA NFHL parcel map). Flood insurance claim counts come from OpenFEMA's NFIP redacted claims dataset, summarized by the ZIP the claim was reported under (data frozen by FEMA as of June 1, 2026). Housing age, building type, tenure, and home value come from the US Census American Community Survey 5-year estimates for the ZIP Code Tabulation Area; PO-box ZIPs have no Census housing data and show general guidance instead. Seed housing/climate notes are labeled estimated. If a live feed is unavailable, we say so rather than inventing conditions.
Call routing
After you enter a ZIP and problem type, we check partner coverage. If a campaign covers that ZIP, we show a tracking number. Contractors are independent — always verify license and insurance before hiring.
What we are not
- Not emergency services — call 911 if anyone is in danger
- Not a free quote marketplace or price guarantee
- Not a warranty of any contractor’s work
